Bill Hoffmann

PE, Vice President/Senior Principal Engineer

   

In 1976, Bill Hoffmann, P.E., began his engineering career with CTL|Thompson. Progressing in his capabilities, he developed specific expertise in slope stability, design of small earth dams, earth retention systems design, building foundation failure analysis and remediation.

Mr. Hoffmann has filled multiple roles at CTL|Thompson serving as Vice President, Senior Principal Engineer, Colorado Springs Branch Office Manager, and as a member of the Operating Committee. He has done field investigations for small earth dams and their design; and conducted governmental permitting followed by bidding, construction administration and field observation. As senior Principle Engineer, he is the principle reviewer of non-residential projects in southern Colorado and has been the project engineer on such facilities as the Olympic Training Center, the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center and the one million square foot MCI complex. Mr. Hoffmann coordinates the firm 's "Special Projects" group.

He is currently Chief Operating Officer. Taking the newly created position in Sept. 2005, he will provide oversight and coaching to operating managers in the eight CTL|Thompson locations. He will be in charge of implementation of operating standards, systems and inter-office peer reviews. Mr. Hoffmann will office in Colorado Springs where he will remain available to provide client services and act as a resource to new leaders in the Colorado Springs division.

Mr. Hoffmann holds a bachelor of science in civil engineering from the University of Colorado and is a registered engineer in Colorado. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and the Colorado Association of Geotechnical Engineers (CAGE); and is a past Director of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).
